Emerging Birth Doula

For Mamas on Bedrest

Being on bedrest, while necessary for various reasons, can be disruptive and difficult. Sometimes we need a little extra assistance with the "every day" things or maybe we just need some advice. Here are some ways that Lauren can offer her assistance...

Services Include:

Informational Support
  • Provide information and resources, such as bed rest support groups and referrals to birthing professionals
  • Lending Library

Physical Support
  • Relaxation Techniques (visual imagery & guided meditation)
  • Help with body movements/gentle bed rest exercises.

Practical Support
  • Help to create a "command center" either in the hospital or at home
  • Help with errands
  • Light Meal Preparation
  • Light House-Keeping
  • Resources for Sibling Care

Emotional Support
  • Assistance with the emotional transition of being on bed-rest

Who can benefit from extra assistance? Single or married women on bed-rest, who are considered "high risk" or are having a difficult pregnancy. Teenage mothers can also benefit from the support and encouragement offered by a doula.

The fees for Antepartum services are $40 an hour with a 2-hour minimum within a 30-mile radius.
Additional fees are required to cover gas if outside Lauren's service area.
