Do Doulas ONLY Attend Natural Births?
No. The presence of a doula can be beneficial no matter what type of birth experience you desire. My overall goal is to help the mother have a safe and pleasant birth, not to decide the type of birth. Some women have very clear plans for their birth & while I encourage flexibility (because birth is inherently unpredictable) I will provide encouragement, informational support, and comfort measures throughout a natural birth, one with the administration of medications, and even a cesarean section. I understand that not all women choose to birth naturally and I will support whatever choice you make for your body and your baby.
